God gave me a word before coming to Tanzania in September 2005. It was Habakkuk 1:5
“Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed.
For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe,
even if you were told.”
On the first day of our pastors meetings, at the beginning of June, God placed another scripture on my heart from Habakkuk. It is Habakkuk 2:2
“Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets
so that a herald may run with it.”
God is fulfilling both of those words here in Tanzania. God has truly amazed us as He has surrounded with men and women who are committed to seeing their nation reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Since the three day seminar that we had with 14 Tanzanian pastors/leaders from 4 different regions, a training is being developed to raise up church planters to bring the gospel to unreached areas in Tanzania. We had three days with these pastor/leaders, from different tribes, backgrounds and areas of Tanzania, and were able to share together with them, hear from their hearts, their experiences, and see God move through all of us corporately. A lot of things were discussed through the course of the meetings, but the end result was 14 men and women who are committed to seeing God use them to see the unreached in Tanzania reached. They left with the assignment of finding 3 people of whom they are going to pour their lives into; with the understanding of the importance of raising up a ‘Timothy’ who can take their place; with the goal of sharing with their congregations and/or colleagues about the need for harvesters in the fields of Tanzania; and with the commitment to have 2-3 people from their own region set aside and prepared to be trained to be church planters by November of this year.
God is moving and i am going to run with Him. 🙂 I am continually awed by God’s choice in workers and am humbled and grateful to be apart.
Thank you all for your prayers. Please keep praying for greater clarity for these pastors as they look for the ones that will be trained to go. Please also be praying for us as a team as we put together the training for these trainers.
Psalm 133:1, 3b
“1 How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!
3b …For there the LORD bestows his blessing,
even life forevermore.”
