This morning my friend Mary preached a great message. It was real confirmation of some things that the Lord has been speaking to me lately. She basically spoke on how true compassion stems from intimacy with God the Father and Jesus Christ. Unless we are spending time with the Lord we aren’t going to have passion for Him. And without passion for the Lord we aren’t going to have compassion for His people. It was a good word.
Yesterday was also a good day. I got to hang out with Amina and Mariam for most of the day. Amina’s husband got home from Norway this past Thursday and I finally got to meet him. I am really happy that he is home and finally gets to be with his family. Amina and I just sat and talked most of the morning and then older Amina took me to the market so I could find a couple of khangas (the material that the women use for wrap skirts) so that I could get some dresses made. It was fun getting to go with her to the market. Then me and Mariam went into town and walked around. It was just a fun relaxed day. 🙂 Lunchtime is their main meal and they really enjoy feeding me for some reason. It was a rice and meat dish yesterday. Pretty good. Older Amina’s husband was eating at the same time I was and had one of the house girls pour me a glass of what he called fresh milk. 🙂 It was really thick and slightly chunky. He put two scoops of sugar in it and stirred it up. It tasted like plain yogurt in more of a runny consistency. It was ok… but they really like it here.. sour milk. Hmmm. 🙂 Another experience to add to my collection. Here are a couple of pictures from Saturday.
Here is me and Umal (i’ll learn how to spell her full name next time)
Here is me and Mariam… she wants to visit me in America one day. :o)
Well, that is all for now. I love you guys! God Bless!
