This past week was great and this week is going to be even better. Last week i continued to build relationship with Amina and her sister in law Mariam. I continue to learn more about their culture and religion daily. I am realizing more and more each day as well that prayer must be the foundation of our work. I, in myself, am incapable of changing a nation, or seeing even one person come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. I am continually praying for God’s heart so that i may truly love people as He loves them. The other morning as i was praying my mind went to 1 Corinthians 13, the chapter on love. The verses that stuck out in particualr were 2 and 3.
“If i speak God’s Word with power, revealing all His mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if i have faith that says to a mountain, ‘Jump,’ and it jumps, but i don’t love i’m nothing. If i give everything i own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but i don’t love, i’ve gotten nowhere. So no matter what i say, what i believe, and what i do, i’m bankrupt without love.” (The Message)
At this point i realized even more that any work that we do, here in Tanzania, or anywhere else for that matter, will amount to nothing if we don’t have the love of God flowing through us. And it is when we have HIS love for the people that we can truly intercede on their behalf. This nation will go unchanged unless we pay the price in prayer and fasting. That has been my prayer for this team. That God would give us His love and draw us into deeper prayer and fasting. This is when change will begin to truly take place.
Please continue to join with us in prayer for this nation and especially for the Somali’s here in Moshi. Pray that God will give us His heart for these people, that we may truly show them the love of God.
Thank you all so much for love and prayers. Love you all! God Bless!
